I don't know much about this picture, other than it's down south and these cats were getting rescued.
Transport Provided to Anywhere - Room Desperately Needed! (For the Animal Victims of Katrina)
There is transportation provided, with people ready and waiting, for upwards of 200 dogs and 150 cats so far rescued from the devastation of hurricane Katrina. What these animals need is a place to go. Kennels, boarding, vets offices, shelters with any extra space, foster homes and rescues. Even one or two open kennels would greatly help.
From what we know, all animals have been vaccinated and are in good health considering the conditions. There are dogs and cats of every breed and size. Some are in groups of two, three or four, hailing from the same family, while some are solitary. ANY KENNEL SPACE AVAILABLE CAN CERTAINLY BE USED. These drivers are willing to move these animals ANYWHERE they need to go. Absolutely anywhere.
The current safe houses for these animals are being inundated and some of these pets will have to be euthanized if they are not moved to make room for the incoming animals.
Please feel free to pass on this information everywhere. Every forum, every list, every community.
REMEMBER THESE ANIMALS WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOU.
If you know anyone, anywhere, that is willing to take in even one cat or dog, please have them contact Lynda at the information provided below.
They are also asking for ANY kind of donations for the animals - money, food, bedding, water, etc.
Please Contact Lynda V. at: 203 515 3024 (cell)

Email: Lynda@portone.com
Please contact at any time, day or night. These volunteers, rescuers and shelter workers are working around the clock.
if you are doubting whether or not you want to help, read this article I read today about how animals are being left behind to starve because their owners have no other choice http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/04/katrina.p
it's very depressing to read, but it's really going on. I'm going to ask Sean if we can get one dog from the South.
As some of you might remember, I resigned in January 2005. I received the usual letter that says it should be handled locally and all that jazz. There was a "disciplinary council" for me but I didn't attend it. They threatened me with excommunication even though I had already resigned.
It's now more than 6 months later and still my name wasn't removed. I called a total of 2 times to ask about the status. When I got off the phone I didn't feel that I was assertive enough to get them to just do it for me and get it over with.
Today I received a letter from the local Bishop. I was relieved, I thought, "hey, if you're just persistant, it'll get done." Boy was I wrong. I was floored to read what was written:
Dear Marie,
The purpose of this letter is to summarize the proceedings of the church disciplinary council held in your behalf on
During the disciplinary council you were disfellowshipped from the church for conduct unbecoming for a member of the Church.
Upon completion of this council, consideration was also given to your request to remove your name from the records of the church. It was decided to process this request immediately. This process should take just a couple of weeks to be completed. As you know this request will cancel the effects of your baptism and confirmation.
Marie, only through Gospel of Jesus Christ can we find complete joy and happiness. The Lord has organized His church on the earth to help every son and daughter of God receive eternal life. I bear testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and at one day you will be brought to a recollection that Jesus is the Christ and that He presides over this work. I sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision.
Respectfully yours,
Some Asshole
**My first reaction was, "I AM NO LONGER A MEMBER, HOW COULD THEY HAVE EXCOMMUNICATED ME?"
2nd was,"WHAT CONDUCT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?" I live with my boyfriend who've I've been with for 7 years, big whoop. They have no right to tell me how to live my life.
3rd was,"WHY IS IT UP TO THEM WHETHER OR NOT THEY WILL REMOVE MY NAME?" It's a law that if you resign, they HAVE to remove your info.
So of course my main idea after I read this letter was to seek legal action. But, my boyfriend (he's an inactive mormon) is discouraging me. He's afraid that I will go to hell if I sue the Church. But I feel what they did is wrong. Legally what they did was wrong.
Kathy Worthington and I have been in contact since I've started this thing and she's been awesome. She told me to let her know if anything else happens. I just sent her an email telling her about the letter. I trust her advice and will do what she tells me because she has experience with this process.
Should I just "let it go?" Should I fight them? I'm so torn at this time, the best thing to do so far is to consult a lawyer.
I need to know where I can download some Hawaiian music.
Any ideas are appreciated...
How funny.
On A&E there's a special called "Investigating History" and it's about Brigham Young and all the mormon doings in the 1800's. If it weren't like $29.95 to buy the episode on tape, I'd definitely like to have it. Right now they're talking about the Mountain Meadows incident. How can mormons be so blind to the truth??
P.S. I'm still on the mormon's records. They still haven't removed my name and I started this crap in JANUARY. I'm ready to receive a "You've been excommunicated" letter in the mail any day now. If I do, I'm getting a lawyer, I'm tired of this shit. I'm sure a lot of you can relate.
Edit:It's on History Channel, not A&EOk, so almost 2 weeks ago my boyfriend Sean brought our dog Hazel to the pound. He basically got sick of her lack of listening to us. She has some good qualities and some bad. She is overall a nice dog. Very loving and she's a "follower." She would never ever leave my side when I was home, kinda like a bodyguard.
So here's the issue: we both kinda miss her. But we're afraid she'll be the same ole stupid at times dog. We think that she might come back even more destructive because she's been at the pound for 2 weeks. Also, Sean did the math and this is how much will be spent to have this dog:
$80 adoption fee for when we 1st adopted her
$25 fee that was paid when Sean brought her there to the pound about 2 weeks ago
$72 will have to be paid if we want to go back and adopt her
That's a lot of money for a dog that we were so mad at. This is why Sean hasn't gotten her back. Almost $200. We have the money, no problem but it's just the principle. What if she's hard to handle when we get her back? I was ready to get her today but I didn't want to come home with her and piss Sean off because I didn't talk to him about it 1st. He's reluctant because of the money issue.
here she is on the pound's website: (she has a tail, she's just hiding it)
| Border Collie mix – female – 1.5 years old. "Hazel" is a nice dog! She sure made some friends while out getting her picture taken. She lost her home when her previous owner moved to a house without a fence. "Hazel" is described as a loving, friendly girl who is good with everyone she meets, including children, other dogs and cats, too. She is housebroken and leash trained. "Hazel" will sit and lay down for treats and would love the chance to learn more in a fun and positive obedience class. "Hazel" could easily be the family pet that everyone is looking for! And she is ready to come home with you today.

Why isn't The Wonder Years available on dvd yet????
And Third Watch...that's a really good show! (that recently got cancelled)

- Mood:
disappointed
oh man. My bed was sooo comfy this morning. I had to open the window because it was so warm and stuffy upstairs. I never knew how comfy the end of the bed was. We're all coming in at 6am today so we can leave early at 230 instead of 430. We all are infected with Spring Fever. It was so hard to stay here working yesterday with it so nice outside. Our boss left early and that was it, I wanted to leave to...Would he even know if I did? He probably won't care.
So I'm taking Monday off. Sean has Sunday and Monday off so we're planning some kind of driving excursion. I was wanting to go to Craters of the Moon National Monument because I went there a long time ago and it was cool. It's 918 square miles of volcanic cones and splatter volcanos. It's a little hot there because of said volcanic activity. I remember there being a million little chipmunks running around. I love chipmunks. If we go I'd like to bring them some squirrel food, if they'll eat it.
I dunno, part of me wants to get outta town but then at times I just want to sleep and lie around.

Everyone be sure to get yer Pete N Pete...It's out today! I'm kinda disappointed that it only has 8 episodes on it.
The lyrics to the theme song are as follows:
Hey smilin' strange, you're lookin' happily deranged
Can you settle to shoot me?
Or have you picked your target yet, hey Sandy ai yai yai yai...
Don't you talk back, ai yai yai yai, hey Sandy
Four feet away, end of speech it's the end of the day
We was only funnin', but guiltily I thought
you had it comin', hey Sandy, ai yai yai yai
Don't ya talk back, ai yai yai yai, hey Sandy, hey...

**Exclusive**
Dave Chappelle Found! Talks Exclusively with TIME Magazine in South Africa
"I figured, Let me just cut myself off from everybody, take a minute and pull a Flintstone-stop a speeding car by using my feet as the brakes. I am surprised at what I would do for $50 million. I am surprised at what people around me would do for me to have $50 million," Dave Chappelle tells TIME's Christopher John Farley in an exclusive interview.
CHAPPELLE tells TIME he's not in mental hospital or drug rehab, debunking earlier reports in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and elsewhere.
The full story, as well as exclusive photos of Chappelle in South Africa, will appear on TIME.com Sunday morning and in the issue that hits newsstands Monday.

Have you ever had a memory that's stamped into your brain (an old memory) and then relive the memory again years afterwards?
I was feeling nostalgic and did a search for "Balboa Park." This is a park in San Diego that my dad would take my sister and I to play. I had this memory stamped in my brain of a big rectangular pool that you could fall into if you're not careful. I remember there were lilly pads with turtles hanging out... This was one of my favorite memories from my childhood. So, I was soo shocked and in awe when I found this picture...this is what I saw in my head from so many years ago..Now I want to go there and bring Sean to this special place..
( Balboa Park )
If you ever need recipes for ANYTHING, www.cooks.com really helped me. I just found a Meat Loaf recipe because I don't have much cooking experience :)
Now I'm off to get ready to go to Wally World.
I'm craving girl scout cookies.

Oh my God, does anyone remember this familiar screen? This makes me think of 7th grade...I remember back then I used to send people viruses through AIM, back when you could "punt" people offline if they were pissing you off..Does anyone remember that?
P.S. AOL sucks.
